What do WE do as SPCs? • Serve as a resource and support for CTE teachers • Identify special populations students • Explain special populations procedures • Assist with CDP+ and Mod log • Help teachers understand IEP, 504, LEP and compliance • Assist with blueprint mods • Collaborate with EC Case Manager and ESL teacher

  4. We also… • Assist with teacher-made exams • Coordinate in-service training for CTE staff • Conduct Career Interest and Learning Styles inventories • Maintain and update folders for each special populations student • Help with lesson plans • Offer literacy strategies • Suggest classroom management strategies • Proctor for Microsoft Certifications

  5. Help teachers (cont.) • Attend IEP, 504 and CTE Department Meetings • Help develop non-traditional posters • Collect special populations forms • Administer final exams • Work with the Chamber of Commerce to develop a Speakers’ Bureau

  6. Serve as a Resourcefor students • Check to be sure students are receiving services • Provide modified blueprint for OCS students • Offer individual tutoring • Provide small group instruction • Assist with classroom labs • Conduct career interest and learning styles inventories • Offer career counseling

  7. …and more • Help with projects • Facilitate remediation • Act as a judge for CTSOs, Advanced Studies presentations, OCS senior portfolio presentations • Practice job interview skills • Administer tests for CTSOs • Field trip chaperone
