Goals • Aims that people consciously try to reach. • When you reach a goal, you attain something you want and consider important. • Your goals keep you focused.
Time Frame • Short Term: less than a week • Intermediate: Between a week and month. • Long: Several months or years. • When making a long term goal, you usually break it down into short-term or intermediate goals. • Visionary goals: you don’t really expect to achieve.
Your Goals • In your notes, jot down 5 long term goals that you have.
Are they SMART? • S=Specific • M=Measurable • A=Attainable • R= Realistic • T=Timely
To help make your goals a reality…. • Make a list of what you want out of life. • Consider your personal priorities • Try and focus on achieving goals. • Make definite plans. • Establish consequences and rewards. • Know yourself and what you are capable of accomplishing.
STANDARDS • Standards are different levels of achievement. • People have standards for their appearance, how well they do certain skills, and quality of their possessions. • People acquire their standards through personal contacts in their experiences.
Bucket List • On a sheet of paper that you can turn in, I want your bucket list. • A bucket list is a list of all the things you want to accomplish in your lifetime. • You should have no fewer than 15 things.
Revamp goals • Earlier you wrote down 5 long-term goals. • At the bottom of your bucket list, I want you to rewrite those goals to be SMART goals. • Turn in your bucket list and revamped goals into the cube.
