  3. We’ve already made a start…… We launched our new Data Linkage Service in September

  4. You can already access…. Extracts of pseudonymised data sets that are: • Created by linking data held by the HSCIC • Created by linking data held by the HSCIC to customer data With appropriate Information Governance in place: • Extracts of linked data in identifiable form We can also offer: • Cohort flagging for long term mortality and morbidity follow up • NHS Number tracing and list cleaning

  7. Programme Overview • Programme Definition well underway. Base-lined position expected in December • Tranche 1 completed in October • Tranche 2 will complete in summer 2013 • Tranche 3 will complete in 2014

  8. Tranche 2 • Increased number of linked datasets available on a regular basis from April • Increased scope for customers to link their own data to data held by the HSCIC • Improvements to the application process • Primary to secondary care linkage on a regular basis in support of ‘care.data’

  9. Tranche 3 • Move the Data Linkage Service onto the Strategic IT platform • Link by ‘default’ and provide data to customers according to their purpose • Continue to make experience better for customers • Ensure the service has sufficient funding to continue for the long term

  10. Important Partnerships We will also identify and develop key partnerships: • Supporting other national bodies e.g. Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) • Supporting commissioners e.g. Data Management Information Centres (DMICs)
