Key takeaway: entering the new hire transaction BEFORE the hire date was a key component to being able to use ESS at new hire. June 2013 – Overall, 65% of newly hired State employees were entered into Edison after their start dates.
(ESS) for New Hire Insurance Benefits Enrollment • February 2014 through May 2014 - Mini LEAN events (A-3’s) with 14 agencies. • Using ESS at New Hire – 40% • Employees entered into Edison AFTER their hire date – 45% • Event takeaways: • Working with business owners (hiring managers) to follow standard new hire processes. • Educating HR teams and hiring managers about DOHR process – current state. • Understanding the online tools and resources available to help HR teams prepare and inform the New Hire employee (welcome letter). • Recommend having Computers available for the new hire to enroll in benefits during orientation (kiosk or “lab” environment).
