English and Maths Intervention Whole school
Aim of the Session • To inform you about the year ahead for our targeted Yr 11 students • To share the mapping of our intervention for Maths and English • To encourage parental involvement so that parents/carers, teachers and students are working towards the same goal
Why do we have an intervention programme? • Level 2 qualification in English and Maths • Increase chances of further education • Employability
Level 2 Qualifications Students will be completing at least one of these pathways: • GCSE • Adult Literacy and Numeracy (ALAN) • Certificate in personal finance (CPF)
Why your son/daughter? • Students identified through data • Report data and target grades • Maths modular results • Teacher predictions • Any student who was not guaranteed a C grade in either English or Maths of both
Last Year’s Success • 92% 5 A*-Cs • 5 A*-C inc. Maths and English 2010: 45% • Students on the intervention programme that passed either Maths or English 2010: 57%. • 14 students achieved their Cs in Eng and Maths as a direct result of the intervention programme • Next year’s target is 47% A*-C inc. Eng and Maths. Ideally, we would like all students on the intervention programme to achieve a L2 qualification
