Mechanical Engineering Team: Determination Project: Recovery Team: Zac Barnett Ben Barnett Max Aransen Presenting too: Engineering summer camp 2011 Date: 6-10-11
Outline 1.Objectives 2. Introduction 3. Statement of Problem 4. Analysis 5. Results 6. Conclusions 6-10-11
Objectives Goals: To get all of the red pucks safely to each checkpoint. 1: Recovery will be to follow the black line pathto the red hockey pucks (debris) 2: Then therobot will pick the pucks up 3: Finally the robot will drop the pucks off at each check point 6-10-11
Introduction • Our team was interested in Mechanical Engineering. • Autonomous vehicles can go places that humans cannot, or areas where it is not safe for humans. 6-10-11
Statement of Problem How can we get the red pucks safely to the checkpoints. We must stay on the line at all times. Goals: To get all of the red pucks safely to each checkpoint. 6-10-11
Analysis 1. We will program the robot to collect the red pucks and drop them off at each check point. 2. We will use the Lego Mindstorm robot which will use various sensors to follow the line and motors to power the wheels and the claw. 6-10-11
Results We accomplished rescuing one of the red pucks, but unfortunately ran out of time to program the robot in order to get the other red puck. 6-10-11
Conclusions With the creation of robots to go where it is not safe for humans, we will be able to find people who have been lost in debris from natural disasters, and also a variety of other situations where it is not safe for humans to go. 6-10-11
