Coordinating Conjunction - combines 2 independent clauses found in compound sentences (FANBOYS) • Subordinating Conjunction- used in a complex sentence, starts a dependent clause • Independent Clause- like a simple sentence/can stand alone • Dependent Clause- Has a subject and verb, but cannot stand alone • Simple Sentence- Has a subject and verb/can stand alone/expresses a complete thought • Compound Sentence- combines two independent clauses with either a coordinating conjunction (FANBOY) or a semicolon
