  5. TB Tracking • Presented by Jamie Cannon, Feather River College

  6. Typical Set Up for Tracking TB • PTRCERT-RULE FORM • PPACERT –APPLY TO AN EMPLOYEE

  7. PTRCERT

  8. PPACERT

  9. PROS AND CONS OF PPACERT FOR TB • Pro:Allows for detail of timing and expiration and current status • Con: No baseline reporting or notification of pending due dates

  10. Using PEAREVW • PRO: PEAREVW ALLOWS FOR BASELINE REPORTING USING PERREVW • PRO: THROUGH LUMINIS, BOTH EMP AND SUP CAN SEE THE DUE DATE • CON: NO TRACKING DETAILS

  11. PTVREVW

  12. PEARVEW

  13. View from Luminis

  14. Consider using both • PPACERT allows for the details • PEAREVW allows for the due date tracking and reports for HR • PEAREVW allows for the notificaition and puts the accountability back in the hands of the employee and their supervisor

  15. Suffix “validation” • Presented by Julie Monfette on behalf of Citrus Community College

  16. Use of Help Query • Citrus needed to ensure that all parties kept to the designated Suffix configuration to keep their data useful and timeless • While the suffix does not have a true validation form, using the Help Query allows you to add an easy access reference.

  17. Help Query

  18. Help Query

  19. Sample Legend

  20. Other ideas for local “Help” • Consider adding to all date fields in PEAEMPL • Any time you re-purpose a field, be sure to add the local Help so all users have access to it. • Great for insuring ease of access • Great for insuring consistent use of the field

  21. Repurposing Fields • Cautions: always document why you are repurposing a field both with in Banner help and for end users.

  22. Other solutions • Supplemental Data Engine • available for down load for 7.4 • Part of Banner 8 enhancement • Find details in the release guide for General

  23. Access under General menu

  24. gtvsdtb

  25. goadisc

  26. goasdmd

  27. Light bulb is yellow to indicate it is on the form

  28. The light bulb is illuminated to show there is data.

  29. MIS Data Validation • Ideas to keep your data accurate from the start of the record • Avoid crunch to correct the output for MIS extracts • Consider scheduling the validation process with IT to run once a week • Always give the errors back to the end user to let them correct their entries, and… • Nip bad data entry habits early!

  30. MIS Data Validation • Consider running a “null” script to seek out a MIS required field that is otherwise not triggered to indicate an error when left null. • The most common neglected fields are on PEAEMPL

  31. MIS Data Validation • PEAEMPL has several fields that can be left null: • Employee Group • District • Hiring Location • Marital Status

  32. MIS Data Validation • Consider a scheduled “sweep” using SQL to check for a match of STRS/PERS setting on PEAEMPL and the job.

  33. Other Solutions • Group Discussion

  34. Questions? • Julie.monfette@sungardhe.com • jcannon@frc.edu • trowden@taft.org
