Certification Eligibility • Undergraduate degree of any type from accredited college • 1 year experience in contract management or related field • 80 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) in contract management • CPE requirement can’t be waived and must contribute to professional proficiency and growth • 1 CPE for 50 minutes training (seminar, workshop, conference) • 15 CPE for ea semester hr (3-hr grad semester course is 45 CPE) • 10 CPE for ea quarter hr (3-hr grad quarter course is 30 CPE) • Retain documentation of courses • Candidates can test, but will be awarded the designation ONLY when experience and CPEs are met

CFCM / CCCM Testing • One exam per certification • Exam consists of 110 multiple choice questions • Testing is conducted at Kryterion Testing Centers • Chapter-sponsored test at Hanscom (final week) • Three hour exam time limit • CFCM candidates must take the Federal Knowledge Module test and score at least 71 percent • CCCM candidates must take the Commercial Knowledge Module test and score at least 68 percent
CPCM Eligibility and Testing • Undergraduate degree of any type from accredited college • An intense four-hour 180-question exam is required • 70% Contracting and 30% General Business • Five years contract management experience • 120 CPEs For more certification/eligibility details check out http://www.ncmahq.org/certification/.
Practice Tests • There is a waiting period for test retake, so practice exams are encouraged • Online practice exams are available ($35 for 50 Qs) • Requires a Kryterion account to be established • Email the Certification Department at certification@ncmahq.org • Free online practice tests are also available at http://www.ncmahq.org/GetCertified/Content.cfm?ItemNumber=6130&navItemNumber=6089#top
Application / Exam Costs • Application Fees • CFCM: $150 members; $260 nonmembers • CCCM: $150 members; $260 nonmembers • CPCM: $175 members; $285 nonmembers • Examination Fees $95 per test at Kryterion location • Examination Fees $50 per test sponsored at Hanscom • Recertification/Lifetime Certification Fees • $95 total, regardless of number of certifications held
Training Process • Members meet once a week for three to four months • Members rotate responsibility to lead a session • Members not leading the study session prepare multiple choice questions for that week’s reading • Weekly sessions conclude with members presenting their prepared questions to the group (mini exam) • Schedule • CFCM (currently in session, candidates test in May) • CCCM (currently in session, candidates test in May) • CPCM (slated to begin Summer/Fall 2010)
Chapter Reimbursement Policy • NCMA will provide • Reimbursement of 50% of study material costs (based on member price) • Exams sponsored at Hanscom • Offered for $50 exam fee (vs Kryterion $95 fee) • Max fee reimbursement of $50 (subject to passing the test) • First time members (not renewals) receive one year free membership (must participate in study group) • Restrictions/Provisions • Written statement employer doesn’t reimburse employee • Receipts for the study materials and exam fees
