  2. Definición de Incendio Forestal “Es cualquier quema de vegetación viva o muerta, fuera del ambiente urbano o de construcciones. Su alcance abarca todos los incendios programados o no programados en bosques naturales, bosques plantados, áreas naturales protegidas, praderas, pastizales, matorrales, arbustos y otros tipos de vegetación, incluyendo los incendios en turberas, marismas, ciénagas y pantanos. También comprende los fuegos de superficie o de copas en vegetación agrícola de cualquier tipo, cuando el fuego no ha sido programado y ejecutado como parte de una técnica agrícola aceptada. Un fuego en este contexto, comprende también un incendio que, desde un área natural u otra área, afecta a un ambiente rural o urbano, o a un área cultural o histórica llegando a afectar a las construcciones existentes ”.
