Project Goals and Scope • To connect Agiba Head Quarter in Cairo (HQ) with its Western Desert Operation Locations (OL) so to ensure seamless communication. • To upgrade OL LANs so to ensure seamless data, voice and video integration with the HQ (Triple Play). • The OLs in scope are: • El-Hamra, • Midpoint, • Meleiha, • Zarif, • Faras, • Raml, • Aghar. • Kalabsha could be considered later on.

Solution Overview • The solution consists of deploying Broadband Wireless Technology (BBW) in combination with Telecom Egypt Fiber Optic (FO) as well as the recently repaired Agiba FO cable linking Meleiha to El Hamra via Mid-Point. • Upgrade the Local Area Networks in the various OL by introducing Cisco based IP Telephony and Wi-Fi technology, Video Conferencing. • Provide high speed link (Wi-Max) to the Rigs operating in the vicinity of Meleiha, Aghar and Faras (18Mbps up to 30Km distance). • The aggregated bandwidth within the Western Desert OL will be more than 48Mbps and 8Mbps to Cairo Head Quarter with 99,999% availability.
