When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.: DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE ACCORDING TO THIS, WHAT TWO THINGS HAVE DETERMINED THAT AMERICA SHOULD BE FREE?

  4. WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? IF RIGHTS COME FROM GOD OR ARE NATURAL, THEN IT IS WRONG AND UN-NATURAL FOR GOVERNMENT TO TAKE THEM AWAY IF GOVERNMENT GIVES THEM, THEN GOVERNMENT CAN TAKE THEM AWAY.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.—DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE Do you agree that the “Pursuit of Happiness” is a right all people should have? Can you name a way that some people would pursue happiness that you would be against?

  7. 3. -That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these end, sit is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government: DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE IS OUR CURRENT GOVERNMENT (LOCAL, STATE, OR NATIONAL) DOING ANYTHING THAT LIMITS LIBERTY? IF SO, IS IT TIME TO ABOLISH OUR GOVERNMENT AND CREATE A NEW ONE?

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security: DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE NAME TWO THINGS THE BRITISH DID THAT WOULD CONVICE THE COLONISTS THAT BRITAIN WANTED TO TAKE AWAY THEIR RIGHTS.

That we do hereby declare our- selves a free and independent people; that we are, and of right ought to be, a sovereign and self-governing people under the power of God and the General Congress : “MECKLENBURG DECLARATION OF INDEPEDENCE” ACCORDING TO THIS, THE PEOPLE OF MECKLENBURG COUNTY NC ACCEPTED THE AUTHORITY OF ONLY TWO POWERS. WHAT WERE THEY?

I ask, gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can gentlemen assign any other possible motive for it? Has Great Britain any enemy, in this quarter of the world, to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. If we wish to be free, if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending, if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained, we must fight! Three millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations; and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave: PATRICK HENRY ACCORDING TO HENRY, WHY DID WE HAVE A CHANCE AGAINST THE STRONGEST NATION ON EARTH?

  18. 11. This new World hath been the asylum for the persecuted lovers of civil and religious liberty from EVERY PART of Europe. Hither have they fled, not from the tender embraces of the mother, but from the cruelty of the monster; and it is so far true of England, that the same tyranny which drove the first emigrants from home, pursues their descendants still.:THOMAS PAINE ACCORDING TO PAINE, WHY DID PEOPLE COME TO AMERICA?   19. 12. That British Fleets and Armies have been and still are daily employed in destroying the People and committing the most horrid devastations on the Country. That Governors in different Colonies have declared Protection to Slaves who should imbrue their Hands in the Blood of their Masters.:HALIFAX RESOLVES- PASSED BY THE COLONIAL LEGISLATURE OF NORTH CAROLINA. Here, NC complains about things the British have done. What is one complaint that shows the colonists might not really believe that “All Men are created equal”?

  23. “WHAT TOM SAID” ON JULY 04, 1776, THE CONTINENTAL CONGRESS PASSED THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE Which declared that the 13 former Colonies were now the independence “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” It also stated our chief REVOLUTIONARY IDEALS.
