Unit 1.00 Project Environments
Directions • You will be manipulating text to make an impact on an American audience about the country/culture that you chose. You can choose to insert text into an image by following the steps on the next slides or you can just use text on a page without inserting it into an image (see slides to follow). • You have a checklist that you need to make sure to follow that is in your Unit 1.00 Project folder in Teacher Assignments. • Your project will be DUE on October 21st (A DAY) October 24th (BDAY) (COMPLETE) • On October 25th (A DAY) and October 26th (BDAY) we will have a gallery walk for peer reflections!
How to Insert Text Into an Image • Create your text in one Photoshop blank document (use horizontal, vertical, different styles, different sizes, colors, etc. (Make sure you have a background that you want to use) Go to Layer and FLATTEN the IMAGE once you are totally COMPLETE! • Then open the image that you want to insert the text into and take the magnetic lasso on the left hand side and cut around the section that you want. (Make sure you get a dotted line to make it selected)
How to Insert Text Into an Image..cont. • Then go back to your text image. Click CTRL+A and then CTRL+C. • Go back to your image you want to insert it into and then go to EDIT and PASTE INTO! • Then you can play around with the Opacity and Luminosity to change different effects!
If you are JUST USING TEXT! • If you are going to just use text and manipulate it different on the page you will need to open a new document in Photoshop and then use your TEXT BOX on the left hand side to draw different text boxes to write your words in. • When you are ready to move them and warp them go up to EDIT and then TRANSFORM then you can click on WARP or SKEW. This will allow you to curve your text and then you can transfer form it with the handles around the box.
Grading • You will be graded on each Criterion of the Design Cycle. (See Excel Spreadsheet for each Criterion or visit Website for a list of the Criteria for each project)
