  2. What is a dihybrid cross? • A cross between individuals that involves 2 pairs of traits • Color of seed & shape of seed

  3. Dihybrid Punnet Square • Start with one parent & look at all possible combinations • Ex. Hetero for both = HhKk • HK Hk hK hk • Put each possible combo above the boxes of a punnet square • Do the same with the other parent

  4. Heterozygous Ratios • Green & Yellow • 9/16 • Green & Green • 3/16 • White & Yellow • 3/16 • White & Green • 1/16 • Ratio = 9:3:3:1

  5. Homozygous Crosses • All offspring are heterozygous for both traits • Picture on pg. 177 in text

  6. Genetic Diseases • Diseases or debilitating conditions that have a genetic basis • Can be caused by a single allele or multiple alleles • Can be dominant or recessive

  7. Patterns of Inheritance • Use a family pedigree • Find patterns for phenotypes (especially diseases)
