Vaccines: When, where and why they were invented Cholera’s vaccine was founded in 1879, two years later the vaccine for anthrax was founded. In 1882 the rabies vaccine was founded eight years later the tetanus vaccine cured many thousands of people, as well as diphtheria which was rife many years before the cure was found. The typhoid fever was vaccinated against in 1896 and finally one year later the plague had been vaccinated against.
MY AIMS • 1. Describe how the first vaccine was invented • 2. Develop a timeline of when different vaccines were distributed to the public • 3. Case Study on a disease that has been eradicated due to vaccines (Smallpox). • 4. Case study on a disease that has nearly been eradicated due to vaccines (Polio). • 5. Case study on a disease that in the future may be vaccinated against (HIV).
