  4. The teacher will ask the following questions based on the video clips • What forces the air to move in and out of the lungs? Aside from the breathing exercises that we usually do, how can we have a clearer view on the breathing process in humans? • Can we make a model for this?

  5. Activity Proper 1. Giving of instructions and distribution of Learning Activity Sheets by group • Learning Activity Sheet 3 Lung Model • Group work • Reporting by group

  6. Analysis and Discussion • What part of the respiratory system does the model represent? • What does the lung- chest model show us?

  7. Generalization What model can you construct to demonstrate the mechanism of breathing in humans? Application and Valuing Aside from the ice candy bags, what other materials can represent the lungs in a model?

  8. Evaluation • Let the leader of each group display their project/model and have the pupils evaluate the best five models. • Rubric on Lungs Model.doc

  9. Assignment For the Student to Think: Does the size of chest cavity affect the volume of the air drawn?
