Who is Cence? • Launched in 2007 • Association incorporated under Section 21 • Registered Non-Profit Organisation, Regno. 089-763-NPO • BEE Compliant: BBEEE classification as EME, level 4 contributor • Cence has been awarded Provisional Accreditation, accreditation no. 3806, as a Provider of Education and Training by the Services SETA of South Africa • Cence has submitted registration applications to Umaluzi for accreditation of their ABET Programme level 1 to 3 and the Higher Education Council (HEC) and is currently awaiting registration numbers & certificates • Investing in communities through the provision of training & development solutions • Development of Collaborative Partnerships • Implementation agency that facilitates development through partnerships

Cence Proposal 1: Societal Audit • An assessment & analysis of education levels to identify training & development needs • Determine existing skills level & identify skills needed, locally • Aligning training needs with those of the Local Industries • Ensurethat the demand for scarce skills in the area is met • Help municipality align budget for specific skills training that has been identified as scarce in the area • High level society audit & evaluation of needs & talents/skills

Cence Proposal 2: Community Gardens (cont.) • Where: Schools, Clinics, Prisons, Churches, Open Spaces, Provincial & Government Buildings • Create a municipal community garden program • Create a municipally funded not-for-profit organisation to support community gardens • Include community gardens in your general / comprehensive plan • Allow zoning for community gardens • Create a community garden committee • Provide an easily accessible inventory of all vacant public/private lots & open space What Local Government can do
