7 A.M morning workout • As a football player you have to workout all the time. On my way to the weight room I walked across the dewy grass. There were clouds in the sky and I knew it was going to rain. The dew is adhesion because it sticks to the grass.
12:30 pre-game • Before a football game you need to stay very hydrated to do so you can drink water or g2.Since water is the universal solvent and it is in your blood, when you drink it the water in your blood helps carry it through your body and hydrate you.
12:50, right before the game • To keep your water cold you put ice density of water relates to football because the density is .92 less than the density of water which is 1.0 g/ml. Water’s density allows the ice to float in your water bottle.
1:30 kickoff • I am so anxious for the game to start. The sun is beating down on me, so I pour water down my neck to cool off. When I walk out to the kickoff I feel the water sticking to my sweaty back. This is water sticking to water and it is called cohesion.
2:00 during the game • When you play sports in hot weather there is a very high chance that you will overheat. The significance of water’s specific heat in football is that when you use a lot of energy your body gets very hot. Water's specific heat helps regulate the temperature of your body.
2:45 start of the 4th quarter • The weather is fairly good for the game, but it is starting to sprinkle. When I look down at the side of the bench there is a rock. There is a dome forming over the rock . The reason that is possible is because of polarity and hydrogen bonding which is the properties of water that makes it possible for water to stick to things.
4:00 ed of the game • Victory! Sometimes in sports when you win you pour the bucket where you get the water from over the coach’s head. When the coach started to back away some of the water missed and went all over the ground into a big puddle. According to the water cycle that water will be evaporated meaning rise up into the air, condensed meaning come together and make a cloud, and precipitate meaning fall back to earth in rain, snow, sleet, or hail.
4:20 postgame • It is after the game and the whole team is celebrating. After we give away the game ball and the coach speaks, we start to change into our regular clothes again. I grabbed a towel to dry my head and face. All the sweat went into the little spaces in the towel which is called capillary action. If you take the whole day just explained you can see how football is very much related to the properties of water.
Fun facts! • 1:rain has a pH of 5.6 • 2:water conducts more heat than liquid mercury. • 3:water molecules exist in a temperature range of 0-100degrees Celsius • 4:more than 70 percent of earth consists of water • 5:Earth’s hydrosphere contains 1.36 billion cubic kilometers of water.
