"Through the Bible" Week 41. Joy in the House of Prayer. If Jeremiah is the "Weeping Prophet," Isaiah is the "Rejoicing Prophet.". Isaiah lived 700 years before Jesus was born, and preached for 40 years. Isaiah repeatedly speaks of unsurpassable joy.

  2. If Jeremiah is the • "Weeping Prophet," • Isaiah is the • "Rejoicing Prophet."

  3. Isaiah lived 700 years before Jesus was born, and preached for 40 years.

  4. Isaiah repeatedly speaks of unsurpassable joy.

  5. Anger is not antithetical to joy because when we respond correctly to God's discipline, full joy, the joy of salvation - the joy of knowing we are forgiven - is the guaranteed result.

Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations." (56:6, 7)

  18. Isaiah 35:10 • "The ransomed of the LORD shall return and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."
