Introduction • Mainstream Mobile Internet: WCDMA • Supporting technology for WCDMA: WLAN • Currently demonstrated public WLAN access systems at airports, hotels, cafes, residential areas • This research projects develops an IPv6 public WLAN trial system for public transportation and for real-estates

Existing Nokia products • Nokia Public Access Zone product for Public Wireless Access, for example hotels • Nokia Operator Wireless LAN product for operator controlled Public Wireless Access • Both of them utilize Nokia WLAN Access Points and Nokia Wireless LAN cards including the SIM-based authentication • http://www.nokia.com/corporate/

General description of trial research project • Two different access systems combined in the project • Public transportation access system • Real estate access system • Real estate access system utilizes the Mobile IPv6 technology demonstrated in several exhibitions • Smooth handovers in IPv6 Telephony • Ability to assign quality levels to different traffic flows • Public transportation access system • Full advantage of WLAN broadband access to the Mobile Server services • The general Internet access available for IPv6 (and IPv4) terminals
