CCE is for overall development of the personality of the student • Has been implemented at lower / upper primary • Being followed in 8th and 9th standards Areas considered for CCE PART –A PART-B SCHOLASTIC CO-SCHOLASTIC I L Mathematics 1) Physical&Health Education II L Gen. Science 2) Attitudes and Values III L Social Science 3) Work Experience 4) Art Education

The new pattern 20% of 625 will be 125 Marks
WEIGHTAGE TO EXTERNAL EXAMS I Easy 30% Average 50% Difficult 20% II Remembering 30% Comprehension 40% Skill 20% Application 10% (Includes Analysis and Synthesis) III Question Paper will includeMC/VSA/SA/LA and other objective type questions. IV Internal choices will be given for 3 mark and 4 mark questions to have a wider coverage Varies from subject to subject. Details will be given
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT LOGISTICS • 20% of the Internal assessment must be taken on the average of formative assessment done at four different intervals FA 1+FA2+FA3+FA4 50X4=200 in each Scholastic areas • Formative assessment will involve the achievement test for 20 marks and 30 marks for three activities out of suggested activities • The activities for each formative assessment to be selected from among the list of activities suggested. Teachers have the freedom to choose the activity of their choice which should be made known to students in advance • For the formative assessment the tools/rubrics should include indicators on several skills like creativity, leadership/participation and the related abilities of the students • Internal Assessment allotted by the schools be audited. OTHER ISSUES • First terminal exam marks is not considered for formative Assessment • Only two preparatory examinations are to be conducted by the school, keeping in mind remedial programs • Curriculum Transaction to be continued till the end of February.
Should the minimum for each paper in external examination be fixed ? If it is 35% then minimum for 80 will be 28 and for 100 will be 35 30% of 80 will be 24 30% of 125 will be 38 35% of 500 in aggregate will be 175 Grading: will be done considering the external and the internal marks

Teacher Training The Training Program regarding the changes must be done at the earliest all over the State before July 2014 keeping in mind the complexity of the nature of training.
