  4. Known Facts • Making metadata sucks. • ArcGIS Desktop does not treat metadata like we wish it did. • ESRI still loves us. They’re trying to help. • Making a metadata editor ourselves was time-consuming, difficult, trying and in the end we were not satisfied. • The 10.1 Metadata Editor is good but making metadata is still mostly going to suck.
