  5. Did you know…... • The Food Service Program is self funded. • Excess funds help purchase new equipment. • Point of Sale will standardize cashier procedures in the 19 school cafeterias. • Summer Food Service will provide meals to thousands of hungry kids this summer.

Did you know fun facts…….. • Our bookkeeper processed 7200 Free/Reduced applications this year. • We served 208,128 slices of pizza, 12,000 pounds of salad mix, 19,840 pounds of cheddar cheese, 47,880 apples, 267,624 cartons of juice, 1,075,750 cartons of milk and 5000 gallons of ranch dressing to food service customers. • The warehouse delivered $800,000 in food supplies to the school kitchens this year.

  7. 2001-2002 Program Inhancements • High Schools will see an upgraded reimbursable meal program called “Crossroads Café” featuring pizzeria style pizza, a deli with fresh baked hoagie rolls, healthy entrée salads, fresh mex choices, with a variety of sides and beverages. • Targeted Middle School sites will drop into the EDzone. The new “Energy Download Zone” will offer students a place to find their favorite reimbursable meals, with fresh entrée and side choices in a teen trendy environment. • Elementary Schools will fine tune the “Kids Way Café” program by adding more variety and choices in the reimbursable meal program . Watch for our A-Z Salad Bars during National Nutrition Month in March.
