Presentation Structure • Introduction – captures the audience • Body – educates the audience • Key Points • Conclusion – what the audience will actually remember
Speaker Presentation • Effective preparation involves: • Appearance • Presentation • Technology
Appearance • Dress appropriately. • Maintain eye contact. • Do not read from your notes. • Speak with conviction. • Use appropriate gestures & body language. • Pause frequently. • Include humor wisely.
Presentation • Know your audience. • Know your material. • Rehearse your presentation beforehand. • Prepare handouts for audience/teacher. • Know when to stop talking.
Technology • Include audio-visuals that enhance your presentation. • Have an emergency back-up. • Check out speaking location in advance.
