Compound Nouns • Nouns made up of two or more words. • Can be one word, like storybook; more than one word, like ice cream; or joined by hyphens, like runner-up.
Forming Plural Compound Nouns • For those written as one word, add an “s” or “es”
Forming Plural Compound Nouns • For those written as a hyphen, or more than one word, make the most important part of the compound noun plural
Note • Whether a compound noun is singular or plural, the verb must agree with it.Ex: My sister-in-law writes books.Ex: My sisters-in-law write books.
