CALCULATING HOURS NATEF accepts what each institution’s regional and/or national accrediting agency defines as an instructional hour.

ETL CHECKLIST • Review Entire Manual (ETL Checklist p. 214 - auto)* • Talk with program coordinator Schedule on-site Review qualifications of team members
ETL CHECKLIST At least two weeks prior to on-site you must have received: • Application for On-site Evaluation • Course of Study (p.22 Procedures section - item 4) • On-site Team Member List • Advisory Committee List
ETL CHECKLIST • Approve and sign the application - send it to NATEF • Receive Team Packets from NATEF • “Guide for Team Members” and schedule to team members • Send schedule to on-site coordinator
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS • Anxiety level - school and team • Meet the day/evening prior, if possible • Explain process and expectations • Review schedule and facility • Start with short, easy assignments • Ask host to be available for questions
GO / NO - GO ITEMS • Standard 2.5 A The Advisory Committee must convene a minimum of two (2) times a year (meeting minutes are required).
GO / NO - GO ITEMS • Standard 5.5 F The Advisory Committee must review information from annual follow-up procedure and provide input for modifications to the program.
GO / NO - GO ITEMS • Standard 6.5 A (Auto) 95% of P1 tasks 80% of P2 tasks 50% of P3 tasks must be in curriculum GST must teach 100% of tasks

GO / NO - GO ITEMS • Standard 7.1 B Safety glasses must be worn by all students, instructors, and visitors in the lab/shop area while lab is in session.
GO / NO - GO ITEMS • Standard 9.1D Instructors must be ASE certified in the areas they teach. GST Instructors must be ASE certified in A-4, A-5, A-6, and A-8.
GO / NO - GO ITEMS • Standard 9.3 B Instructors are required to attend at least 20 hours/year of recognized industry update training relevant to the areas in which the program is certified.
ETL CHECKLIST • Summarize conclusions & sign the report • Hold debriefing meeting with school personnel • Write a summary of your meeting for your final report
