When should we Pray ? Having set times creates the habit of praying Dan. 6:10 “he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God…” Not limited to set times Important occasions – Luke 6:12-13 Trying circumstances – Acts 16:25 Spur of the moment - Neh. 2:4-5 Pray without ceasing
With whom should we Pray ? In Secret Matt. 6:5-6 - closet = room With two or three Early Christians prayed together Trouble - Acts 12:5, 12 Departure – Acts 20:32, 21:5
How should we Pray ? Jesus taught how to pray - Luke 11:1-4 “Lord’s prayer” or “Model prayer” To whom = Our Father in heaven Praising God = Hallowed be your name Supplication God’s = Your kingdom come Our = Give us our daily bread Spiritual = Forgive us our sins
