I Chronicles 4:9-10 “And Jabez was more honorable than all of his brethren…(because)…he called on the God of Israel saying: “Oh that thou wouldnest bless me indeed, and enlarge my boaders, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me. And God granted him his request.”

  7. David’s example: • Acts 13:36 “David served God’s purpose in his own generation.” • Psalms 138: 8 “The Lord will fulfill His purpose in me; your love, Oh Lord, endures forever, do not abandon the works of your hands.”

  8. The Lord is looking for available people. . . • II Chron 16:9 • “The eyes of Jehovah run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong and strengthen those whose hearts are completely His.”

  9. The prayer of Jabez • And that Thy hand might be upon me.. • God wants dependent children. • Am I willing to attempt something I can’t do, or have never done before?

  10. The prayer of Jabez... • Thou keepest me from evil.. • The more spiritually significant you become the more you will be targeted for elimination by the devil.
