  3. Regents Diploma- English Global History US History Mathematics (CC Alg 1) Science Cumulative average of 90 or higher on the 5 regents exams earns the honors designation. Adv. Regents Diploma English 11 Global History US History Mathematics (CC Alg 1, Geometry & Alg2) Science (Biology & Chem or Physics or Earth Science + LOTE FLACS B local exam (Sp, Lat, It, Fr.) Cumulative average of 90 or higher on the 8 regents exams earns the honors designation. REGENTS EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS (65 or Better)

One Last Rule • Students may appeal one regents exam and earn a regents diploma- • Criteria: • Official appeal filed • Taken exam at least twice • One score falls within 60-64 • Passed the course • Satisfactory attendance • Review by building committee • Students may appeal two regents exams and earn a local diploma- • Criteria: • Official appeal filed • Taken each exam at least twice • One score for both each exam falls within 60-64 • Passed the course • Satisfactory attendance • Review by building committee

Substitutions for FLACS B Exams • LOTE (FLACS B)- • French • Latin • Spanish • Italian • Korean • Chinese • Japanese • Hebrew • SAT II Scores (out of 800) • 500 • 470 • 460 • 450 • 560 • 560 • 480 • 490 • All of these exams, with the exception of Italian, Latin, and Modern Hebrew must be taken in November.

  9. Local DiplomaRequirements • Same course requirements as Regents diploma (Ex. LOTE) • 55 rule is still in place for CSE students. • New option: • ELA and Math-55 to 64 (minimum score) • Global, US, Science- 45 to 54 (65 rule: For every 45 to 54 exam score, there must be a corresponding exam with a 65 or better. Two exams maximum) • 52-54 appeal rule • Superintendent’s review

  10. CDOS & SACC Certificates awarded by the High School CDOS- Students who meet the CTE and Work requirements SACC- Students who meet IEP goals but not requirements for a high school diploma

As a Freshman, be sure to- • Establish a solid rapport with your teachers. • Get to know your Assistant Principal • Get to know your counselor, let your counselor get to know you. • Know your rights and responsibilities (Handbook). • Know graduation requirements. • Learn the building. • Have a challenging schedule. (Honors Options/Research) • Select electives that interest you. • Chose activities that interest you. • Manage your time wisely: Do not overextend yourself. • Listen to the announcements. • Begin thinking about your plans after high school. • Start compiling your extracurricular resume. Naviance • Be a kid and enjoy your freshman year. • Become familiar with the student/parent portal

As a Sophomore, you should- • Continue to have a challenging schedule. • Know graduation requirements. • Enhance your relationship with your counselor. • Become familiar with testing requirements. • Get to know your teachers. • Continue to take electives that you have an interest in. • Continue to participate in electives that interest you. Take on leadership roles. • Intensify career exploration and options. • Add to your resume file. • Continue to refine your time management skills. • Know your rights and responsibilities (Handbook). • Review your credits and gpa. • Listen to the announcements. • Ask questions. • Have fun. It’s your Sophomore year.

As a Junior, you should- • Remain in a challenging schedule that meets your needs. • Take on more leadership roles. • Continue to work closely with your counselor. • Begin exploring and refining your college/career choices. • Know yourself and your needs/wants. • Increase involvement (level) in extracurricular activities. • Work closely with your teachers. Get to know them, let them know you. • Refine your activities resume. • Review the handbook. • Manage your time wisely. • Listen to the announcements. Check the bulletin boards. • PSAT/SATs/ACTs. • Review transcript. Know graduation requirements. • Have a great time. Do not stress so much. You are a Junior.

  14. As a Senior, you should- • Still have a challenging schedule. • Not catch senioritis. • Finalize your activities resume. • Refine your college search. Complete application process. • Work closely with your counselor and teachers. • Double check your graduation requirements. • Listen to the announcements. Read the bulletin boards. • Check employment/financial aid opportunities. • Manage your time wisely. • Take care of graduation issues (Name on Diploma, College forms, Coursework, invitations, etc.) • Look at the Handbook. • Have the best time of your life. You’re a senior.
