Philosophy • Develop student athletes who will represent the soccer program, RHS, and the surrounding community in a positive manner. • Instill in our athletes the confidence, pride, integrity, class, discipline, responsibility, & leadership that will help them to become not only better players, but also better people. • Respectful and open communication with players and parents.
Philosophy (Cont.) • Create an environment that fosters teamwork and builds chemistry at all levels. No substitute for hard work and positive attitudes. • We strongly encourage participation in the RHS summer 4 v 4 play and BFS. Summer play is also encouraged but not required. • As a coaching staff we strive to be fair, not necessarily equal.
Achievements • The program has been more competitive, consistent, and successful in the play at all levels since 2007. • The program has re-gained credibility and respect amongst opponents and their coaches. • Significant increase in collegiate interest and signings. • Varsity has reached semi-finals the past 2 seasons. • 10 + wins in last 3 seasons. • All State and All Metro Recognitions.
9th grade, Sophomore, & JV Goals • Improvement through player development • Readying players for competition at the next level of play • Develop pride in the program • Competitive success at all levels • Have Fun • Players must develop a self motivation to push themselves to be the best and maintain a positive attitude towards self and others.
Varsity Goals • Develop and maintain strong team chemistry • Improvement through hard work and doing the ordinary things better than anyone else. • Finish in the top half of the South Suburban Conference • Make it to the section finals • Work towards State Tournament • Have Fun
Program Initiatives • Summer 2012 • High School 4v4 League • BFS • RAAA clinics • Youth Girls Camp (K-6) • Game Film • Focus on all levels of the program • Scholarships • College Scholarship • Students will not be denied the opportunity to play due to finances
Team Selection Criteria • The following criteria will be used for team selection: • Skill level • Tactical/strategic capabilities • Understanding of the game • Fitness/Speed • Drive/determination/attitude • Best players chosen regardless of age or grade for upper level teams • Scoring/ rating system will be used for team selection • Interaction with teammates & coaches • Position Needs • Physical and Mental Toughness • WE DO NOT TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION SUMMER ACTIVITIES OR PLAY
Team Selections • Teams • Varsity- Any Grade • JV- Any Grade • Sophomore/B- Sophomores, Juniors, & Select Freshman • Freshman Blue and Green- Freshmen • Cuts are possible and a reality of the program • Movement within the program is possible, but should not be expected • Team Announcements: Varsity- 8/18, JV-8/16, Sophomore-8/15, Freshman-8/15
Player Expectations • Any comments, concerns, or questions should be addressed to the coaching staff first. Please do not address issues with coaches immediately before, during, or after a game • Attendance at all team functions unless absence has been previously approved by coaches • Follow MSHSL and team rules at ALL times • Be on time to practice and pre-game meetings. • Maintain academic eligibility • Always show respect for coaches, opponents, & referees • Inform coach of any injury • Cell Phone Policy- • Home Games: Warm Up-Coach’s Dismissal • Away Games: Bus Ride-Coach’s Dismissal • Practice: Designated Start Time-Coach’s Dismissal
Parent Expectations • Players are to initially address any comments, concerns, or questions with the coaching staff. • Do not talk to coaches about playing time, position, strategy or other players. • Parent issues should be discusses and resolved face to face with their daughters present. Emails and telephone conversations should be avoided • Have realistic expectations of your daughters and set a positive example for them • Respect coaches, players, officials, other parents, etc.- NO EXCEPTIONS! • Volunteer • Support your daughters, but allow us to coach

Lettering • A player will receive a letter for: • Giving all four years of high school to the program • Playing in 20 varsity halves • Being a rostered member of a conference or section championship • Varsity managers do not have to meet the above criteria to letter • In order to be eligible for a letter a player must complete one 3D award activity • Eligibility for a letter may be revoked due to violation of team rules
Clover Club • Recognizes players who give 100% effort, 100% of the time during each game • After each game, coaches will select a player or players deserving of the award • Players will be recognized with a certificate • A player who achieves 5 or more Clover Club Awards during the season will receive special recognition and a additional award at their banquet
3D Letter • The 3D{Dedication/Desire/Discipline} letter is a system currently used by other RHS athletic programs. • The purpose of the 3D letter is to encourage our players to enrich their high school soccer experience by: • Becoming more active in program activities • Take advantage of opportunities to become better soccer players and better students of the game • Become more active members of the community • We encourage annual participation • 1st year: DDD Soccer Ball • 2nd-4th year: DDD Bar
Miscellaneous • Game schedules are posted on the website • www.irishgirlssoccer.com • Rosemount Women’s Soccer T-shirt at no cost • Additional spirit wear available for purchase • All players must purchase their own home & away socks • Mandatory $20 uniform rental fee {includes sock purchase} This is due at time of uniform handout. • NOCSAE approved shin guards required for Varsity • Program Team Building Initiatives • One Freshman practice replaced with attendance at Varsity game.
Miscellaneous (Cont) • Fundraising Buyout Option. • Check for $200 for Varsity winter jacket also collected at uniform handout and returned at end of the season. • Freshmen Mentor Program • Future Stars Game
