HD Camera The camera was one of the main objects that was needed to produce the documentary as we used it to film our interviews as well as our cutaways. The cameras had various features which helped to make filming easier. We were able to zoom in and out of areas that we wanted to film, particularly for cutaways as we wanted to change the shots up as well as making them look more interesting and not as boring for the audience
External Microphone The microphone was useful as it allowed us to ensure that the audio for the interviews could be used and was clear to the audience when we edited the clips. If we didn't use a microphone then the audio wouldn't of been as clear and the camera would of picked up noises from surrounding areas
Tripod The tripod allowed us to ensure that the shots that we were filming were in focus and were not shaky as we didn't want to mess up any interviews or cutaways as we did not want to have to refilm anything as it would waste time as well as taking more time away from the interviewees. It also made it easier to film various shots like pans as it made the shot smoother
DSLR For the main Image of my print advert, I used a DSLR to take a clear image that we could use as the main focus of our poster. This made it easy for use to change the settings on the camera including the ISO and Aperture to produce a clear image. I also used a digital camera to take pictures of the surrounding areas of our interviews or to take pictures of aspects such as menus
Photoshop Photoshop was a platform used often throughout the documentary process. We used the platform to make the Print Advert and without the use of Photoshop it wouldn't of looked as professional as well as interesting for the audience. Using Photoshop allowed us to edit the image on the print advert as well as using colour splash to make the images in colour stand out against the black and white. By adjusting aspects such as the brightness and contrast, this made the image look even more professional. We also used Photoshop to add text on to the advert as well as adding the BBC One logo
Premiere Pro This platform was the key media platform used to produce the documentary. We needed to use this as we edited the entire documentary on it as this would allow the product to look the most professional as this is something that professional use to edit work. Not only was it used for the documentary but was also used to make the Radio Trailer. The software was difficult to use at times as it was something that I had no really used before but with more practice of editing clips and placing them where we wanted them helped to improve my skills in this area. Using Premiere allowed us to edit the sound levels as we could adjust the sound using the yellow line so that the audio could be heard clearly when using headphones and without using them
