Construction System: Construction wood By: Canon Vice
Input • Sawmill • Spruce or fur logs • Water • A de-barker • Files • Saws • Canter bull machine • Conveyer belts • Sanders • Bins • Kiln • Lumber graders • Log trucks • Shipment trucks
Process • Spruce and fur logs are taken to a sawmill. They are soaked in water to remove mud and soften bark. Next they are put through a de-barker to remove the bark. The bare logs are then ran through the saws to cut them into 4X10 pieces. The narrower logs are sent to a separate saw to be made into whatever sizes are needed. The 4X10 boards are then cut into 2X10 pieces. Both production lines are sent to a machine that smooths and removes defects. They are then sorted into bins according to size. The wood is then put into a kiln to be dried, then graded, then shipped off.
Feedback • Construction wood is used by almost everyone who builds any wood structures, it is used very widely because it works so well and is so versatile. It can be used for any job, anywhere.
