  1. Racism By: Jocelyn Maroun

  2. What is racism? Racism is the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, that a person’s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics. Racial separatism is the belief, most of the time based on racism, that different races should remain segregated and apart from one another.

  3. What was it like? It was a cruel time… Blacks and Whites could not go to the same schools, they could not sit in the same parts of restaurants, they could not drink from the same water fountain, and they were not given the same treatment as whites.

  4. Where was it found? Racism was found all across the World.

  5. Who did it affect? • Racism affects the current generation because it is not teaching them morals on how to treat people. • Since people of color were treated unfairly, it led to violence and Blacks being accused of crimes that they never committed. • It affected all African Americans because of the KKK. • This Klan was about violence and white supremacy. • They would take their anger out on any African American or White person who stood up for them, many of them ended up dead.

  6. What are the impacts of racism now? Racism now a days are more subtle. People now are for the most part treated equally. There will always be that one person who is always discriminating on a race that is not his or her own. Racism is often found when finding a job. People of certain races will not be hired because the person who is hiring does not like your race. It can also change a way a person feels about themselves if they are discriminated upon.
