  5. DECISION EXPLANATIONS CARRY FORWARD - This slide shows an example to why an AQ would be carried forward. For this site the current AQ stands at 61.025. The AQ that the xoserve system proposed was 19,345,875,081, no AQ was proposed by the spec calc. The xoserve proposed AQ was calculated using the reads 25/04/06 – 295635 and 26/02/08 – 3599997. The reading on 23/04/07 – 29566 has caused the system to believe that the meter has clocked, this has resulted in the metered volume recorded to increase substantially. Looking at the previous years AQ’s shows that the AQ has never been massively high which adds weight to the argument to carry forward the current AQ. SPEC CALC - This slide shows why an AQ would be calculated using the Spec Calc. For this MPR the current AQ stands at 59,823 the AQ that the xoserve system has calculated is 421,671 and the AQ that the spec calc has proposed is 81,719. The readings used to calculate the proposed AQ’s are 08/02/07 – 6260 and 04/02/08 – 8664. The reason that there is a difference between the spec calc AQ and the system calc AQ is that the spec calc only takes into consideration the difference between the two reads provided and ignores everything that happens in between whereas the system calc will calculate the AQ using the volume from all activity between the two reads provided. In this case the reading of 02/05/07 – 8489 has caused the system to believe that the meter has gone round the clock which has increased the AQ massively, the spec calc hasn’t taken this read into account so hasn’t calculated the meter going around the clock hence the more realistic AQ is the one proposed by the spec calc. SYSTEM CALC - This slide shows why an AQ would be calculated using the xoserve system calc. For this MPR the current AQ stands at 20,600, the proposed AQ that the xoserve system has calculated is 74,938 and the proposed AQ that the spec calc has calculated is 74,930. The reading used to calculate the proposed AQ’s are 29/09/06 – 591 and 03/02/08 – 9844. Even though the system calc and the spec calc calculated AQ’s are very similar in this case we would go with the proposed xoserve system calc because it is a more concise calculation as it takes all activity between the two provided reads into account.
