1. Pickleball Skills Assessment“The Serve” Chris Recalde

2. Purpose • The purpose of this skills test is to assess the students ability to correctly perform the serve technique using proper criteria and the product of their performance.

3. Equipment • 12 Foam Paddles • 6 plastic pickleballs • 3 Nets • 3 badminton courts

4. Process and Product Evaluation • Students will receive 2 attempts to correctly perform the serve technique using the following process criteria: Process • Ball placement • Feet placement • Strike • Return to ready position Product • Lands inbounds in diagonal box • Lands over non-volley line • Process is worth 7 points and Product is worth 3 points. • Total out of 10

12. Problems with the Test • Did not have correct paddles • Nets were not exact height • No way to rate the product as long as it landed in box
