The Hand’s World Tour 2009 • Dear John … and other HMP members, • Life was quite dull just sitting in the house all day long. My big moment was for just one day of the year (barring the two intervening wars) and so I just needed to get out. • I know you care deeply about me John, and you would do anything to keep me safe but I had to get out. Thankfully you let everyone know where the spare key was in the pot plant so a kind friend liberated me. • But don’t worry, I’ll shall return! You and the pentathlon are both too important to continue gallivanting around the country side. • Please understand I am safe and accept my humble apologies for inviting my friend in to your humble abode.
First stop was the Great Wall. It was really impressive, especially all the rabbits on one side.
Got too bloody hot in China so I hit the slopes on Everest with a few mates. With a decent set of binos, I reckon I could see the Pennish from here!
The Taj Mahal was extra special because it gave me time for some meditation. I also was able to pinch a few pairs of shoes.
How special was this big fella in Egypt?! Pity he doesn’t have a nose.
Wizzed up north to check out the big E. Thought I’d fancy my chances with a few parisian chicks. Lucky enough to run into Faye at the top of the tower.
Back on the continent, I snuck into the Louvre for a quick look at Mona. Didn’t like the crowds and began yearning for the quieter tones of the Pennish
Stonehenge was definitely quieter and spiritually uplifting for me. They made me realise how important I am in the universe. Faye keeps following me.
While in England I happened to make the front cover of a local band. All you need is love Johnny!
Love can’t solve all the problems of the world though. Saw the lads in ‘Nam. Many of the locals were running from the Viet Cong and Rick Atkinson.
Had enough of planet earth and took a stroll around the earth to ease my troubled mind.
But as my great mate General Douglas McArthur said, “I shall return” And I shall return John – I promise it will be a grand homecoming. And I wont return by stealth this time!
