Overview Presentation on Luminis Platform • This presentation is taken from a much longer one by SungardHE • It shows the main elements of a portal and has references to the implementation plan and its timeline. • “Portal” is the generic term for this type of application. SungardHE calls its Portal “Luminis”. For our purposes, the two names are interchangeable. • The Portal has a login, and based on the person’s login, will present customized and interactive pages. • The Content is targeted to your specific role(s) as well as the specific groups you may belong to. • We expect to start with Alumni, Student, Faculty, and staff portals; more roles will be added as quickly as we can deploy them. More specific roles would include:

  3. Integrating SSO with Third Party Systems One of our primary goals is to integrate Single Sign On with as many Third Party Applications as possible. Here is a partial list: • Alumni Social Networking Application • Blackboard • Intelliworks (iRM) • Libraries (Bistro, Sirsi, …?) • Lotus Notes • Mirapoint (Student Email) • R25 calendar • Right Now Technologies (Faq)

  14. Project Milestones • The Portal project is, in essence, a web presentation layer which parallels the Banner deployment. As a new Banner module is deployed, its functionality will be accessed via the Portal. • Though we are working to make the Portal as complete an experience as possible, until Banner Student goes live in Fall 2008, students will not fully benefit from the Banner channels. We will make as much other content available as we can in the mean time.
