POLLUTION:- • Pollutionis the introduction of contaminants into a natural environment that causes instability, disorder, harm or discomfort to the ecosystem i.e. physical systems or living organisms.
Types of pollution Water pollution Soil pollution Sound pollution Air pollution
SOIL POLLUTION Soil pollution is caused by the presence of xenobiotic (human-made) chemicals or other alteration in the natural soil environment.
Causes of soil pollution • Industrial water • Waste water
Soil contamination typically arises from application of pesticides & fertilizers.
Ecosystem effects soil contaminants can have significant deleterious consequences for ecosystems. There are radical soil chemistry changes which can arise from the presence of many hazardous chemicals even at low concentration of the contaminant species.
Solution on soil pollution: • Plantation of tree • use natural fertilizer • proper waste management
