A Webquest on Technology Integration for Adult Learning By: Kereen Tatham-Maye ICT Department
Introduction • Administrators have decided to host a colloquium to enable lecturers to • discuss strategies for improving operational capacity in the institution and • maintain enthusiasm which is essential to motivate the students (adult learners) to strive for excellence. • The principal has asked you as a facilitator to help in the gathering of information on adult learning strategies and tools to effect learning in the institution.
Task • The principal needs you and a partner to research one adult learning theory and construct a concept map that she can share with other lecturers at the colloquium.
Process • Choose an Adult Learning Theory • When you are creating your concept map be sure to include the following: • Name of the theory • Principles of the adult learning theory • Standards implied by the theory • Strategies to support adult learning • Assessment Strategies • Role of participants (learner and facilitator) • Problems/challenges of the theory • Use the links below to find your information. • You should record all of the information that you find. • Once you have recorded all of your information, create your concept map in Microsoft Word or with CMAP tool. Don’t forget to check the spelling. • When you have finished your concept map, turn it in to the principal for review.

Evaluation • Scoring rubric based on initial criteria. One point will be awarded for each criteria that is met.
Conclusion • When this project is complete, facilitators will have a concept map that will contain factual information about each adult learning theory.
