Sukhad Yatra – Highway-Utility App for Seamless Navigation The National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI’s) recently launched highway-utility mobile application, Sukhad Yatra, has been gaining prominence since the day of its release on March 07, 2018. The final version of the application was recently launched by Union Minister Mr Nitin Gadkari. Sukhad Yatra eases navigating on national highways by helping commuters locate nearby civic amenities and providing location-specific information on toll plazas in proximity of the route they are on. The application has been developed by Com Vision (India) Pvt. Ltd. The GPS-enabled application has seven dedicated features that help commuters navigate on highways, buy FASTags for electronic toll payment, and post grievances. Using these features, commuters can easily travel on the highway even if they have never before. Some of these features are discussed below. Locating toll plazas along the way has been made a lot easier with Nearby Toll Plazas. The tool allows highway users locate toll plazas near to their coordinates. Toll Plaza Enroute allows users to pre-plan their journey based on the placement of the toll plazas on the way and decide which ones to stop. Commuters can also lodge their complaints and grievances on the highway infrastructure and authorities using Report an Issue. These complaints are centralised and then redressed accordingly as the entirety of the data registered by the commuters helps contribute to the overall highway infrastructure of the country. The commuters can also keep track of their lodged complaints in the “Report Summary” section. Apart from these, the “Nearby” feature too comes a lot in handy. It helps locate the nearby civic amenities along the national highways including the restaurants, rest spots, ATMs, petrol pumps, hospitals and many more. These can help the people plan their halts accordingly or even rush through during any kind of emergency. The final version of the Sukhad Yatra application was launched on March 07, 2018 by the Union Minister Mr Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi. The app got a positive response from the audience and it witnessed more than 25,000 downloads just a week after its launch. The
audience has been happy with the easy and smooth user experience on the application whose credit goes to Com Vision (India) Pvt. Ltd. who developed it with a vision that any citizen of any age can use this application. #TollPlaza #FASTag #SukhadYatra
