  2. Acts 13:36 36 "For when David had served God's purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his fathers and his body decayed. • God had a purpose for David…

  3. God’s purpose for David was to bless Israel 2 Samuel 5:9-12 9David then took up residence in the fortress and called it the City of David. He built up the area around it, from the supporting terraces inward. 10 And he became more and more powerful, because the LORD God Almighty was with him. 11 Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, along with cedar logs and carpenters and stonemasons, and they built a palace for David. 12 And David knew that the LORD had established him as king over Israel and had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.

  4. God has created each one of us with a purpose to serve in this generation.

  5. Acts 17:26-27 26From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. 27 God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. • God wants us to know Him. • God has determined the exact time and place that each of us would live.

  6. Ephesians 2:10 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. • God has prepared good works for us to do as we walk in faith.

  7. Often times we chase after what pleases us instead of what is pleasing to God, • not knowing that when we seek after what is pleasing to God, God gives us what we find most pleasing. Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

  8. God has designed each one of us to fulfill a specific purpose in this generation. • God has also given each one of us the resources to achieve and complete that purpose.

  9. What if I don’t know what my purpose is? • Purpose is discovered, uncovered, recognized • Reflect on your life to see God’s fingerprints • Assessments • Be faithful where you are right now

S – spiritual gifts • Everyone has at least one • 1 Peter 4:10-11 10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
