Matthew Rockstroh, Chris Plimpton, and Dominick Reyes • The Golgi Apparatus • The Cytoskeleton
The Golgi Apparatus • Where: It is found in all Eukaryotic cells and some unicellular flagellates.
The Golgi Apparatus • Location: It is found in the cytoplasm near the nucleus. Functions: It modifies and prepares proteins and lipids for transportation outside of the cell or to another part of the cell.
Factory • If the cell were a factory, the golgi apparatus would be the shipping and distribution department.
The Cytoskeleton • Type of cell: It is mostly found in Eukaryotic cells. • Location in the cell: The Cytoskeleton is found around the cytoplasm. • Functions: It establishes the cell’s shape and strength. Provides motion for the cell and organelles within the cell. • If the cell were factory, the cytoskeleton would be the conveyer belt.
