  5. Countries participating in FP7 • 27 EU Member States (MS) • 7 Associated Countries (AC): Croatia, Turkey, EFTA, Israel • plus • International Cooperation Partner Countries/ICPC(receive funding) • Industrialised countries (funding only exceptionally)

  6. Minimum Number of Participants Project Partners: legal entities contributing to project Minimum number: • 3 from MS/AS • 1 (MS/AS/Third Country/International organisation) for SSA • International partners in addition to minimum number • 2 MS/AC + 2 ICPC for SICA

  7. Funding schemes • Collaborative projects (CP) • to develop new knowledge, new technology, products, demonstration activities • Two types: Small or medium-scale focused research actions (STREP), Large-scale integrating projects (IP) • Networks of Excellence (NoE) • to strengthen S&T excellence and to increase efficiency in the use of resources by restructuring/integration of capacities • Coordination and support actions (CSA) • aimed at coordinating or supporting research activities and policies (networking, exchanges, coordination of funded projects, studies, conferences, etc) • Two types: Coordination Actions (CA), Specific Support Actions (SSA)
