Introduction • For a PC Controlled DCN system one Comport is needed for direct connection with the CCU. • If the card encoder and/or label printer are used we need even more than one comport. • On the other hand more and more PC’s and Laptops are provided without comports or with only one comport these days. • By use of a USB to Serial Converter we can still use these PC’s as a Control PC for DCN!! Requirements • Central Control Unit LBB3500/15 or /35 • DCN software V9.00 or higher • Windows 98, 2000 or XP • Available USB port on PC • USB Serial Converter (including Driver Software) Direct-Connection-USB en
Step 1 Connect USB to Serial Converter to the USB port of the PC or Laptop Direct-Connection-USB en
Step 2 Install driver software • The USB Serial Converter contains driver software. The PC needs the driver software to communicate with the USB Serial Converter Direct-Connection-USB en
Step 3 Check Device Manager • The USB to Serial Converter will always take an available COM port number. • In Device Manager you can see which comport number is assigned to the USB to Serial Converter.(COM5 in the example) Direct-Connection-USB en
