TBM Basics • TBM = theater ballistic missile • TBM = range under 3,500 km; • Ballistic = up and down path • Course can’t be altered after fuel is burned out – like a cannon ball • “SCUD” has become generic name • Can carry high explosive (HE) or WMD • Chemical (poison gas or substance, i.e. mustard) • Biological agent (i.e. anthrax) • Nuclear (India, Pakistan probably have capability) • Patriots have improved capability since 1991
Personal Protection Basics • Mask, if you have one • Protect from possible chemical or bio weapon • Seek shelter – concrete if possible • Big explosion, if HE warhead • Chem, bio normally distributed by blast • Even if hit by Patriot, all those pieces will land somewhere • Unmask after civil defense all clear signal • Teams will have assessed potential for WMD
