History of the school The technical high school was originated on the 11th January 1805 when the town hall in Turin created an evening school for artistic and industrial design; other educational institutions were added to it after the unification of Italy. The school is situated in a big liberty style building, between the Mole Antonelliana and the Rai broadcasting and since the postwar period it has been training thousands of technicians in mechanical, electrotechnical and informatics fields. “Weapons of mass destruction” The idea came up in my mind in january 2009, when together with three of my classmates we made, using only a video camera, an advert, that was “IF I DRINK ALCOHOL I DON’T DRIVE”. Later on, Regione Piemonte, having appreciated the message, asked the lab “AvoVideo” (the audiovideo laboratory of the school) to produce the same advert, using professional equipment, entitled ”WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION”, to be used during the regional campaign about ROAD SAFETY.If I Drink Alcohol I Don't Drive ITIS "A. “weapons of mass destruction”Summary of the message We know that students are attracted by the means of expression of audiovisual language, so we have chosen a video to make them sensitive about the fact that the main cause of death of young people all around the world is represented by road accidents. Because driving under the influence of alcohol is the main cause of serious road accidents among young people leaving nightclubs, this video aims to communicate the fatal outcomes of alcohol abuse through realistic and perhaps shocking images. The concept behind the clip is that alcohol abuse can end a life, which is as fragile as the glass in which thrills are sought. Weapons Of Mass Destruction ITIS "A. Avogadro" Torino - Italy
“weapons of mass destruction”Summary of the message The ‘philosophy’ that the Avogadro has developed over the last years is to involve in this educational project teachers, families and students. We consider the road safety education as the acquisition of autonomy and awareness in real danger. Children should, outside the penalty of law, have respect for the rules in order to develop good behaviour on the road, ensuring in this way physical safety and knowledge of the specific risks related to the use or abuse of alcohol or drugs.
