Lady or Tiger 1 Once the young man opened the door I think got attacked. He wouldn’t want to continue his life without his princess. He seemed like he had dignity and was in love. He wouldn’t move on in his life knowing he was still in love with the princess, and have to be married to somebody else. “She hated the woman who blushed and trembled behind that silent door” (on the 5th page of this story). You can tell the princess doesn’t want him with another girl. He will die with dignity over living without the girl that he loves.
Lady or Tiger 2 I believe that the lady come from the doorway. I think this because the king’s daughter loves, and care about him a lot. If she truly does than why would the tiger enter the doorway? Like it says in the story: “This royal maiden was well satisfied with her love, for he was handsome and brave…” For these reasons in my opinion, the lady comes through the doorway.
Lady or Tiger 3 The Princess ha control of whether the Lady or the Tiger came out because she knew what stood each door and directed her lover to a certain door of her own choice. I believe she sent him towards the tiger. She loved him so much she could not bear to watch him wed another women and would rather him dead waiting for her in the afterlife. On page 35 you can see this “the princess hated her. “The girl was lovely, but she had dared to raise her eye to the princess’ lover.” But even then I’m not sure what came out. You can see also on page 35 “with all of the intensity of the savage blood transmitted to her though long lines of wholly barbaric ancestors, she hated the women behind the door.” It mentions that the princess’ lover knows of her ways she inherits from her father on page 36. So I’m not sure if he might of anticipated this and choose the opposite door of which he was told. Either was whether he chose the lady or tiger I believe she sent him toward the tiger for her love for him and her hate of the other woman behind the door.
Lady or Tiger 4 The young man in this story chose the door on the tight which was the tiger. This is clear because in the story it said: had it not been of the moiety of barbarism in her nature it is probable that the lady would not have been there; but her intense and fervid soul would not allow her to be absent on an occasion in which she was so terribly interested” (35). Also in the story the princess was thinking “the girl was lovely, but she had dared to raise her eyes to the loved one of the princess; and, with all the intensity of the savage blood transmitted to her through long lines of wholly barbaric ancestors, she hated the woman who blushed and trembled behind the silent door” (35 ). These two quotes show how he chose door with the tiger . Her jealous and barbaric nature made him choose the door with the tiger.
Lady or Tiger 5 The Tiger come out of the door the princess points to. The princess doesn’t want to see her lover die in front of her, but she hates the woman who is behind the other door. Out of each of the things she doesn’t want to see happen to her lover, she can’t bear to see him get married to that woman. So she points to the door which has the tiger behind it.
