  4. Introduction The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Were built in the sixth century C. during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II

  5. Localization The legend of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon One of the ancient Seven Wonders of the world are called Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The city of Babylon, located in Mesopotamia, along the Euphrates River in modern Iraq.

  6. History Legend has it that the king wanted to pay tribute to his wife, making a gift to show his love for her. The gardens were built in the city carrying large rocks, which unlike the bricks used in construction at the time, were more resistant to moisture. They sat forming terraces, where he placed the necessary land and began planting trees, shrubs, plants and flowers

  7. Garden's Decadence With the fall of Babylon, the gardens were  abandoned.  When Alexander came to town in the fourth century BC, the gardens were already partially ruined and  totally abandoned.  Finally, the gardens were destroyed by King Euhemerus in the year 125 BC

  8. Characteristics *The gardens were located next to  the royal palace. Rightnexttotheriver, and thepeople could see it. *In the highest part of the garden was the water. *The Gardens of Babylon were built with large stones. *The Greek geographer Strabo, who described the gardens in first century BC, wrote, "It consists of vaulted terraces raised one above another, and resting upon cube-shaped pillars. These are hollow and filled with earth to allow trees of the largest size to be planted. The pillars, the vaults, and terraces are constructed of baked brick and asphalt."

  9. Conclusions The Hanging Gardens of Babylon is one of the seven wonders of the world. It was a royal palace that has many walls. They had many plants and big trees. It was made in AjejandroMagno times and there are those who don’t belive do not believe that there were gardens.
