A bit of A* (Born Yesterday) After the suddenly surprising list of adult qualities ‘enthralled’ hits a new note, emotional and almost magical, which leads to the ‘happiness’ in the last line, but in a very unconventional way. The rhyme, its effect doubled by being the only one in the poem serves to emphasise ‘enthralled’. Perhaps the speaker is letting his emotions show through.
