  3. Endangerment • 20 wild tigers left in China • 100 years ago, 100,000 tigers • About 13,000 captive tigers • Tigers killed for money, medicine, and clothing • Pelts worth $20,000 • $1,000 each paw

  4. Effort • China has made some laws • Banned tiger trade in 1993 • Not trying hard enough • Overlooks tiger bone in alcohol • Funded tiger farms, they don’t help tigers

  5. Solution • Treat tiger trade same as drug trade • Need more laws • Find ways to stop poachers get wild tigers • Let tigers live in natural habitats

  6. Conclusion • In closing, the war to save tigers needs to be fought harder
